McCasland Design Introduces Their New Line of Rapid Prototyping

January 5, 2004 Garland, Texas - McCasland Design Inc. has announced the addition of rapid prototyping as their new and main line of services. Chuck McCasland Vice President of McCasland Design said this type of computer aided prototyping known as Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) offers a quick turn around for their customer's prototype and at a fraction of the cost of conventional prototyping.

The FDM process uses a Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) type of material for it's plastic modeling. ABS is an outstanding material for 3D model prototyping because of it's relativity low cost, high impact strength, and dimensional stability. Mr. McCasland said customers can e-mail us a computer aided drawing (CAD) in a sterolithography (SLA) file or other type of 3D format and we can return a quote to them in just a few hours.

McCasland Design has found their low volume prototyping useful in such engineering prototypes as assembly prototyping, medical device prototyping, automotive prototyping, marine and military modeling as well as wafer handling tools used in the semiconductor industry.
